With Opera 8.51 (7712, Win32):
In Preferences > Advanced > Browsing,
I have *un*checked "Reuse existing page"
I have this newsgroup's message list opened,
then I click a second group's name,
intending to have each group's message list
open in its own separate page, by default.
Result:
First group's message list is *replaced*
by the second group's message list.
In newsgroups (or any M2 window, I suppose)
there is no "back" button, but Alt+LeftArrow
reveals that the second view has used the
same window (page) as the first view.
Work-around:
You must open a new blank window (page) first,
then let that new window be re-used instead;
now you have the desired two separate pages.
Interesting :) I never thought of using the mailer like this, but it is
indeed affected by the setting albeit in a buggy way. Bug report filed.
