Opera does a good job, but adding your own filters is oftentimes needed. In a former job of mine I had to handle invoices. So I made a filter consisting of the rule 'invoice@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx'. When everything was filtered using that criterion, I set up new filters (based on the newly created one) that handled invoices per customer.
