Threaded View not working, View Period other than Forever does not work,
therefore:

I have once more(I'm stubborn) done a clean install of Opera 9.51 on OsX
10.5.4
This time I did not care to save the old Mail directory as I wanted to
flush all possible prefs etc.

Here is the procedure I used:

Shut down my TimeMachine backup disk.
Exported Contacts, Feeds and Bookmarks from Opera into a separate folder
on the desktop.
Closed Opera.
Started AppDelete.
Dragged Opera from the Applications folder onto AppDelete.
Ran AppDelete.
Did a search with spotlight for anything Opera.
ReBoot with Pram Zap.
Downloaded Opera 9.51 with FF3.
Installed Opera in the Applications folder.
Dragged Opera icon into the dock.
Started Opera.
Imported Contacts, Feeds and Bookmarks from the before mentioned folder on
desktop.
Manually set up mail account.
Manually set up three news accounts.
Subscribed to wanted newsgroups on all three accounts.

To the best of my knowledge this would constitute a clean install. But
yet, Opera still remembers View settings and Display Period settings for
the Newsgroups!!

Threaded View still does not work for the Newsgroups.
Any other View Period than Forever shows nothing.

So the question is:
Does Opera have any hidden Prefs, History or Views files other than those
specified in Paths?

As in:
Preferences
/Users/Berg/Library/Preferences/Opera Preferences/Opera 9 Preferences
Saved session
/Users/Berg/Library/Preferences/Opera Preferences/Sessions/autopera.win
Bookmarks
/Users/Berg/Library/Preferences/Opera Preferences/Bookmarks
Opera directory
/Users/Berg/Library/Preferences/Opera Preferences/
Cache
/Users/Berg/Library/Caches/Opera/Cache/
Help documents
/Users/Berg/Library/Caches/Opera/CacheOp/Cache/
Mail directory
/Users/Berg/Library/Application Support/Opera/Mail/
Plug-in path
/Library/Internet Plug-Ins/
User CSS directory
/Users/Berg/Library/Preferences/Opera Preferences/Styles/user/

I fail to see what I am missing here. Perhaps Mr.Altman could chime in.
