I just installed Opera 9.51 on Ubuntu 8.04 and have the same problem.
Randomly the keyboard will not work. If I switch to the text editor,
type a key and then go back to Opera the keyboard works again. Not a
big problem but annoying. Hope they get it fixed soon. I am using a
USB keyboard connected through a hub.
