Strange. Does it open the surf_man.html file as a text file, as well?
Perhaps I've misunderstood you. 'file' is a unix command which guesses the file
type.
It doesn't load the whole file nor does it display it.
How are you opening the file? Copy & past the path/filename, or using the
File/Open dialog?
When I open a local file using File/Open, the url looks like
file://localhost/path/filename.html
The same here.
Try opening the surf_man.html file using the File/Open dialog.
I've done that.
On the other hand,
firefox file://`pwd`/surf_man.html
works just fine.
Is there an option to force Opera to interpret a file as html ?
Many thanks,
Helmut.
