Problem detecting default "HostName Expansion Postfix"

I have to find out the default "HostName Expansion Postfix" value.
In documentation default value is ".com". This seems to be outdated.
There are different default values depending on Opera language.

In my english Opera 9.5 international installation the default value is 
"co.uk,com,org.uk,gov.uk,net,org".
In an englisch Opera 9.25 the default value is "de,com".

Anybody who knows where to get the default value from?
I have to read out this value programmatically.
