Is JavaScript disabled? How about cookies? Basically, ensure everything is
allowed, and that any content blockers aren't too restrictive and thus,
preventing you from accessing GMail. When in doubt, try a clean install of
Opera into a separate folder, and try that -- sometimes you'll be surprised.

Walmart.com makes extensive use of content from akamai.net, and uses
JavaScripts from paths that include "/RealMedia/ads/adstream_mjx.ads" So,
if you have any [ad] content blockers enabled, I suggest either reviewing
their settings, or temporarily disabling them to view that Walmart.com page.
After all, that walmart.com page displays fine for me...

I'm running the same setup.

First, check to ensure you are allowing Opera to save your typed-in history
(Preferences...> Advanced tab> History section> Addresses must be greater
than zero) Here's some related opera:config settings to check:
opera:config#UserPrefs|MaxDirectHistoryLines
opera:config#UserPrefs|MaxGlobalHistoryLines
opera:config#UserPrefs|MaxWindowHistoryLines
...ensure these are all greater than zero too; when in doubt, press the
[Default] button next to the setting.
BTW, do you see a startup dialog when you start Opera? If so, then Opera is
crashing during its shutdown, and history is not being saved. Just a FYI,
it's always recommended to close Opera prior to logging-off or shutting-down
Windows.
