The awkward wording on the subject line was trying to say that lately
when I download some files, they show up as if they were text, and
cannot be saved or otherwise be useful. I'm not positive, but I think
it is mostly binaries, .mp3 etc. and .avi sorts of files.
Today, though, it happened when I tried to download a fix file that
M'soft had told me was a vital Vista fix.
I had to start over on (brrrrr) IE!
I have a vague recollection that this or something similar happened
some time ago, and it is probably some simple thing in preferences
that I overlooked.
All help appreciated.
