There must be something else involved because I have all that and am
getting a blank grey screen with "Plug in Content" in the upper
left and no controls. In IE7 it shows Loading and the controls, but
nothing comes of it. The live TV broadcasts do play, though.

It plays fine here as well.
However, at first it tells me the plug-in is not installed, but then the
video plays anyway.

I have no idea what version of WMP plug-in I'm using, but I know I've
never allowed the WinUpdate of WMP11, so it's likely 10, or even 9.
I don't use WMP for anything but web streams, and only when forced.
