The last time I tried importing (some years ago) I ran into this, and did
not realize it had been fixed (maybe).

I tried it again, using "import from generic mbox file" from Eudora 6,
from a box with five messages. One of the five came in with today's date,
both in 8.51 and 9.0p1 (Version Version 9.0 Build 8031). The failing
message is a forwarded message, which thus has two "date" lines in the
header.

It looks like the main problem, of all imported mail getting the import
date, has been fixed, but the two date line issue still seems to be
present for me.

Should Opera be able to pick one of the dates (presumably the more recent)?

Yes, it should. Please file a bug report.
