Just wondering - does M2 have a PLONK function?
Sort of. When I want to killfile someone I add their details to the spam
filter and have spam automatically marked as read so I never know about
those messages.
Ok, so it's more like
"PL... - Ah, just a moment [twiddle, fiddle, clickety-tweak] (got it!) -
...ONK!"
:-)
Another flavour of the plonk feature that nn had was the abillity to kill
a subject (thread). Very useful in newsgroups suffering from frequent
flamewars. And hey - in M2 it could be put to good use to get rid of the
plethora of orphaned subthreads that result from marking as read the
initial message(s) of a large thread. But then again, if given the
choice, I'd prefer to have M2 fixed so that messages belonging to the same
thread were also displayed as such :-)
