Here's an image I drew that approximates what I saw in 9.51 a few seconds after I closed the preferences dialogue: http://img142.imageshack.us/img142/7708/gdi1si0.png And here's what appeared when I moved my mouse around the black area: http://img411.imageshack.us/img411/5682/gdi2hg9.png Both of those are from memory. They may not be exactly right.I have an ATI Mobility Radeon 9200 graphics card with 64MB of on-board RAM. There were no heavy graphics apps open at the same time and I haven't seen this in any other version of Opera. Perhaps another problem I've seen is also related to Opera's new way of drawing to the screen? I have a page where hovering over certain elements triggers CSS rules to make a text glow appear under that element's text, but this doesn't work in 9.5. If I leave the mouse where it is and use the keyboard to move to another open program and then back again, the text shadow is drawn correctly so this seems to be a painting problem rather than Opera not applying the CSS rule. If I then move the mouse away from the element, the glow remains on the screen until I force a repaint by toggling the panel or switching apps again. Safari always displays/removes the text shadow as expected. I don't imagine making text glows appear on CSS ':hover' rules is a high priority in itself, but I thought it might be a clue to some bugs in Opera's new painting methods which is why I reported it (319345) along with some other outstanding bugs that cause scroll bars to recieve mouse clicks when other elements are positioned above them. |
