I've seen reports of the display going black in Opera 9.50 (though I haven't seen it myself until now) but thought this was fixed in 9.51? I just had Opera 9.51 open with the speed dial displayed and brought up the preferences. I went into the search editor, looked at something in there and closed it again. About 5 seconds later, an area of the screen bigger than the preferences dialogue, though roughly in the same area, went completely black. When I moved the mouse over it, the speed dial squares appeared again one by one, though the space inbetween them remained black. I wasn't moving the mouse or doing anything else in Opera when it went black. It literally just sat there doing nothing for several seconds and part of the main browser window spontaneously went black. This blackness stopped at the mail panel however - that remained on the screen ok. Perhaps it was a random coincidence, but the screen partly going black happened at the exact same instance as another version of Opera open in the background played a sound to alert me there was new mail. |
