I don't think this happens if Opera is the default browser, or on a normal  
upgrade, right?

he download dialog itself closes after you make a choice, I think you mean  
the Transfers window :)

No, it is not possible to have it close automatically. The 'View' button  
on the Transfers window toolbar offers some other options. but not that  
one.
