It seems to me I heard somewhere that Rijk van Geijtenbeek wrote in

No, it's pretty much any page with an internal link to a download site.
This has been happening about two or three weeks now; Before that I
never had problems downloading unless there was a problem at the server
end.

I forgot to mention one symptom that may be relevant: when the server
side redirect happens, Opera downloads something behind a blue screen
and immediately goes idle, displays the reload icon, and sits. Applying
Reload just repeats the cycle. A few times, it has displayed raw binary
text, but normally it just displays a blank blue screen within the Opera
display area.

That's the kind of specific suggestion I was hoping to get from users
here but, unfortunately, I do have automatic redirection enabled. I
assume it is a configuration error somewhere, but I haven't been able to
narrow down a specific area to recheck. If I got an error message
instead of having the redirect link just die it would be easier, of
course, but that wouldn't be as much fun. :-)

Thanks for the response.

Late news: I've just downloaded two application files. For the first
one, I had to paste the download info into MSIE because it failed as
usual in Opera.

However, I just downloaded an .exe file from CNet's site; the redirect
was from http://www.revouninstaller.com/. I didn't readjust anything in
the meantime.
