Point taken.  I guess if it offers the choice to upgrade it should at
least actually do it, even though it is certain to end in disaster.

I had a different problem with the installer.  I asked for a new
installation, and instead it told me it was going to upgrade the
existing Opera it had found in another directory.  Only problem was,
there was no existing Opera in the directory it had found, there never
had been an Opera in the directory it had found, and the directory it
had found didn't even exist.  I was tempted to tell it to go ahead and
try but chickened out because I didn't want to risk MSI running amok
all over my system.
