It's a wear-and-tear problem, not a speed problem. Only the two rightmost lanes are designed for heavy vehicles. Left lanes are not built to the same standards, so heavy weight causes excess wear. For left exits, there's usually a "end left lane restriction" sign where the left lanes are built to truck standards. |
