refreshing contents of a directory from a python extension?

Subject: refreshing contents of a directory from a python extension?

Hello!

I am working on an extension for users of ecryptfs encrypted
directories, which will display a banner and allow them to lock/unlock
(unmount/mount) their encrypted directories (screenshot attached). I
have it working, except that nautilus doesn't notice the contents of
the directory have changed when I click the button. For example, when
the directory is unmounted, the encryption/decryption mount layer
disappears and a symlink is switched which causes there to be no files
in this directory. Hitting F5 manually does the right thing, but is
there a way to trigger a refresh of this directory from the extension,
which I'm putting in /usr/lib/nautilus/extensions-2.0/python?

Thanks for any help!
