I agree I could be misinterpreting the message. The use of the word "push" is not one I would associate with the Start button on the Task Bar. I can associate it with the Power On button and can understand a person calling the Power on button a Start button. We shall only know what Ron means when he replies.

I did include the OP's question in my reply and it is there when I check the thread in Goggle.

It must be a problem with Thunderbird, your newsreader, or something else you need to investigate your end. I know nothing about Thunderbird so I cannot make any direct suggestions as to what to check on your computer. I have also posted a reply to the Freezing/Crashing thread, which is next in this newsgroup. Is the OP's question also not appearing in my reply for that post?

When I push the Start Button, the menu comes up but only lasts for two
sec and then disappears. I don't even have time to select a category
and it's gone. How do I delay it?

Change the Boot Menu Delay. Select Start, Run, type "msconfig"
without quotes and click on OK. Select the Boot Ini tab and increase
the Time Out to required time, click on Apply and OK. Restart your
computer to allow the change to take effect. After the computer
completes rebooting test to see if it matches your requirements.

See now that's interesting. You think "start button" refers to the
power button and the boot menu, I think he is talking about the start
button on the task bar.

And you need to include the OP's question in your reply, just a
suggestion.

You're right. You top post, and there is a lot of white space under your signature. I just didn't scroll down far enough.

We'll just have to wait for Ron now.
