I have been using the MBSA pack for MOM and receiving the following
error on half of the servers configured.
Name: File transfer response - Failed to transfer files
Severity: Critical Error
Resolution State: New
Domain: DOM
Computer: hostname
Time of First Event: 28/04/2005 5:00:03 AM
Time of Last Event: 20/05/2005 5:00:02 AM
Alert latency: 3 min, 52 sec
Problem State: Investigate
Repeat Count: 22
Age:
Source: Microsoft Operations Manager
Alert Id: 6c8c1029-5e4c-4c73-b94b-b9700ad7842a
Rule (enabled): Microsoft Operations Manager\Operations Manager
2005\Agents on all MOM roles\File transfer response - Failed to
transfer files
The agent domain\hostname failed to transfer the following files:
'C:\Program Files\Microsoft Operations Manager 2005\Downloaded
Files\Servers\mssecure.cab'). for job
MOM_File_Transfer_Job_Servers{275CDCF3-7B39-4D55-AED8-365BE94E23FF}
with error: .
I have checked proxy settings, the service is running as local system
etc. All configured as per the MBSA for MOM guide.
The client does not even connect to the server so I beleive this is a
client side issue.
I have enabled logging but am unable to view the log file ?
The service is starting correctly as far as i can see.
It does not matter if this is automatic or manual. The ones that are
working are set to manual.
Is there a tool available to view the logs ? If not why does Microsoft
not provide one ? It seems they have provided a tool that is able to be
logged for errors with no way to view the errors to the end user. Good
product but once again pathetic support.
