Start Notification Instance Automatically

Hi,

I am using SQL Server 2000 Notification Services. The notification instance that I created does not startup automatically when my machine restarts. I read in some previous posts that due to dependencies on the SQL Server, the instance might not start before SQL Server is running.
My clients need to have the service started automatically when the
machine starts. Is there any workaround to make the notification service
start automatically?
NOTE: I did change the startup type of the services from manual to
automatic (in vain).
Also, when the service is created using nscontrol is there a way I can
set the service startup type to automatic so that it is set so when the
service is created?
Thanks in advance!
