Hi Roman - 

To disable the distributor while allowing everything else to remain
enabled, run the following command from the NS command prompt
(assuming v2.0):

nscontrol disable -name <InstanceName> -distributor

To re-enable it:

nscontrol enable -name <InstanceName> -distributor
