 Timeout, nope, not as far as I know. 

 Temporary loss of connectivity, I think it might. I have vague memories 
from a long time ago of having to write error handling code that would 
trap network errors and reconnect if it got one because of hiccups, but 
that was before we restructured to log in and out every time. (and then 
restructured to use ExMAPI, which is a whole other kettle of fish..)
