I can't keep up with the latest US-slang.

You do you 'drag lots of files through
slow links.' ?

For inet-d/ling multiple files via a slow connection, I use a script to
append the loaded files, with "<><>" between them as separators so
that I can easily find any particular 'file'.

lynx -dump 'URL' >> acumFile
  does the fast d/l, without graphics.
elinks is better for eg. google's *pdf to text' translations or other files
which need good formatting [eg.columns].
