I have no problem in progressing with chapter 9 in the book, as long as I post my files for testing onto my ISP host site. My real problem is with knowing where to put my PHP files for testing on my computer. When I put them in the 'sites' folder under my user account as shown in the book it comes back with an error 404 'not found' Since my PHP file works as expected when I post it on line on my ISP host site and look at it in my browser after loading it from there, then, I suspect, that I am not 'calling' the same PHP file correctly from my browser on my local computer acting as host. I'm sure it's something simple, but because I am blind by never having done this before, I really don't know what I am doing wrong. According to the book, in my browser, I should be able to type in the URL prefix: http://localhost/~kennielsen/feedback_post.php - and then see the php document loaded for testing on my computer. |
