Thanks Michael,

 At this point I've decided to seek professional help with this project. But at 
least I know a lot more about what to ask for. 

 I know Ill be asking for the FLA and Fireworks files, as well as the basic 
HTML, XML and PHP files. The MySQL database resides on my host's server, so 
that's there. Are there any other types of files I should ask to get from the 
consultant so that I have complete control over the site once they walk away?
