I'm a part-time pro developer who works full-time in the K-12 school system.
My day job is not IT, so my web development is usually done off-campus.
Occasionally, I'm asked to do sites for the district, and everything runs on
Windows. It wouldn't be a big deal, as I can write in ASP, but as far as I
know it requires me to use FrontPage. I actually don't have a copy of FP on
any computer at home, so then I end up having to do the work on-campus but at
night. I'd much rather be using Dreamweaver at home and uploading to the
server from there. Problem is, the server does not (and will not) use FTP for
file transfers. It's that FrontPage extensions baloney that only marginally
works. Is there any way to get Dreamweaver (CS3) to play nicely with this
server's protocol? I've searched a bunch, but I've only found solutions for
MX2004, from when Macromedia was still independent.
Mods, if this ends up just being an extension issue, please move to proper
sub-forum.
Thanks!
