IE layout issues Please help

hello, i have just launced my fist website its nothing special but im proud of 
myself :-) as i had no knowledge before i tried this. i have a major issue 
though im sure its somthing simple you guys will know what it is straight away. 
when my home page is viewed using IE the layout screws up  in firefox its fine 
if any body can help i would be so thankful !!
