It's true that MS no longer develops ASP. It's been a 'dead' technology for
a few years now. But given that it's built into IIS, it's not like is has
dissappeared.
MS now pushes ASP.net

Well, the demand for ASP folks will certainly diminish quite a bit over the
next few years.
PHP will be closer to ASP in methodology that will ASP.net.
