I have been using Dreamweaver for years. With that being said, I like ASP.Net
and prefer to use it over other platforms.
I am terribly disappointed. I would be thrilled if I could simply hand code
the ASP.Net stuff in a template. BUT when I have to put code upstairs above the
body on a template based page DW nukes it on save. Otherwise throws a Locked
Region error.
I could just spit nails. Is it too much to ask for a editable script zone. I
mean it seems so simple...
I have even attempted to hand code editable regions high on the page directly
on the template itself, however, NO DICE. Dreamweaver nukes the entire region,
tags and all.
I am sadly coming to the conclusion that I will have to leave Dreamweaver
behind. It's kinda like abandoning an old friend to certain doom. I first felt
the wind shift when Adobe aquired Macromedia...
It is a shame. Dreamweaver was such an awesome product. However, if it
can't/won't support something as fundamental as ASP.Net, it is time to find a
new tool.
I just don't have time to bang around two seperate applications.
Bummer.
