I assume you are referring to the built in transitions? It looks like
the transitions do work rather slowly in D11.  You can adjust the
speed of the transitions - double click the transition and there is an
option at the bottom.  Ignore the fact that it has the word
'seconds'.  If you set it to 2, it will take more than 2 seconds.  But
you can set it to any number lower than that (even 0 which is quite
fast) and speed things up.
