Flash Running Slow with in Director Projector

I have several flash swfs that are played through a director projector. I've 
been completing user tests by running the projector file on several computers. 
More often than not, the flash movie (which contains animation and audio) runs 
very choppy. The audio stays at the normal flash published speed, but the 
animation slows down and takes 20 to 30 seconds to finish after the audio. Any 
ideas or suggestions that I should/could look at? 

 Are any other details needed?

 I am working on a MAC 10.5.4 and Director MX 2004 - 10.1 and Adobe Flash CS3 
or Flash 8.
