Sound Problems in Director

Hi there,
 I am completely new to these forums ... hope everyone is well.  I am having 
some problems with sound in director.  It is just not working at all anymore (I 
can't even preview sounds I load into the cast).  It suddenly stopped working 
after I had been working on a flash file simultaneously.  The sound is not 
muted in director and every other program I use can still ouput sound.  What 
could this be?  It is really bugging me!!  Any help is greatly, greatly 
appreciated!  Thanks in advance, Luke Taylor
