reinstalling Contribute 3

Hello, we just got a new pc and successfully re-installed Contribute3. However, 
when I go into Windows Explorer and hilite a file to delete, Contribute 3 
starts to load. I need to cancel in order to finally get the usual "do you wish 
to delete this file and send to the recycle bin". Of course, version 3 is no 
longer supported by Adobe so they wouldn't help me.
 Can someone tell me how to configure or disable this sequence?
