Contribute Only Tags?

Is there any way to have tags in the html page that are only processed by 
contribute? I attempted to wrap tags in a <cfsilent> coldfusion tag so that 
normal web pages would be processed but contribute would ignore the coldfusion 
tag, but it seems to hide the content inside the tags. Any ideas would be 
greatly appreciated.
