install cf8 on Red Had 5 will not take License

I tried to add my serial number for CF8 Standard, to a downloaded trial 
package, and it will not accept it. 
 When I try to install using the SN, it puts me in server mode.
 I can not get Server mode to connect to Apache 2.x on Red Hat 5 Enterprise, 
but MultiServer installed and connected to apache 2. without errors.

 From the CFadmin System Info page:  "Use the form below to enter a new serial 
number. Depending on the serial number you enter, various features will be 
turned on or turned off. Your current edition is: ColdFusion Enterprise 
(Trial)."

 Any suggestions?
