no calendar control when using cfinput datefield

When using a cfinput datefield tag the browser shows no calendar control. In 
Internet Explorer it shows a blank X icon, and in Firefox it simply shows 
nothing.

 Also, my CFINPUT tags do not validate.

 My server is running Windows 2003 Server Web Edition and ColdFusion 8 Standard.

 Is there a problem with my server or Coldfusion set-up or something on within 
my browser, or a bug within Coldfusion?
