 By the way, as I know this problem occurs only if the MySQL server is in *nix 
platform.

 I have already requested having a parameter settings for new MySQL drivers in 
CF admin for these connection strings in CF8 but Adobe (Steven Erat) preferred 
having this issue somewhere in the documentation. :)
