CF 8 ODBC datasource definingiton failure

I finally got CF 8's ODBC server and agent installed and running on my WInXP 
server.    I defined a system dsn with the Microsoft ODBC Datasource 
Administrator for an  MS Access db ('author.mdb')  

 The problem now is when I try to define an ODBC socket datasource  with CF 
Admin I get the following error returned: 

 Connection verification failed for data source: author
 java.sql.SQLException: [Macromedia][SequeLink JDBC Driver][SequeLink 
Server]The specified data source is not defined.
 The root cause was that: java.sql.SQLException: [Macromedia][SequeLink JDBC 
Driver][SequeLink Server]The specified data source is not defined.

 I never had this problem with any of the previous versions of CF.  

 What am I missing?
