I can't have the request_xml= in there.  They JUST want "<Request/>."


Well, looking at your example here you specified 'request_xml'. The name parameter of the <cfhttpparam ...> tag will be the name of the name-value data the well be sent in the http response generated by <cfhttp...>.
If you want just 'reqeust' then that should be the name property of the
<cfhttpparam ...> tag.
I.E.
<cfhttpparam name="request" type="formfield" value="#string#">







This is equivalent to this form structure in HTML.

<form ... method="post>
  <input type="text" value="#string# name="request_xml">
</form>

This will submit the data to the action page as an HTTP header named 'request_xml'.
<form ... method="post>
  <input type="text" value="#string# name="request">
</form>

This will submit the data to the action page as an HTTP header named 'request'.
