I use PostgreSQL 8.2. It really comes down to personal choice unless you are a DBA. PostgreSQL definitely has more "professional" features that make a DBA smile, while MySQL was designed originally to be a backend DB for websites. I'd use either before having to spend thousands of dollars on Oracle, SQL Server, or DB2. Although I probably wouldn't run my company financial stuff on MySQL. |
