I have been trying to install CF 8 on Mac OS X(power PC) for a few days now,
but I can't seem to get it right. I have tried on Adobe support, CF Talk, as
well as many other forms, but this my first time trying here, and I really hope
somebody can help!
The situation:
I download CF 8 from adobe. I can go through the first part of the
installation without any problems, but when I go tot he CF Admin I get a 500
Internal Server error.
Now last night I re installed CF 8, and it was working, but both the CF
Launcher & the JRun4 admin said that cfusion was off-line. However, CF was
on-line and working, as I could go to the CF admin, as well as view CF apps.
This was downloaded using Safari, as firefox, and Camino caused problems
(maybe).
Today when I tried to view CF pages, I get the same 500 Error:( It was working
all last night, but today I get the error again. The last time I tried to
install CF I had to stop & re-0start apache for it to work. I am not sure why
that would fix any issues.
I feel like crying, as this was been so stressful. I have had CF MX 7 on this
powerbook, and no issues ever. I am wondering if this is a problem with CF 8. I
am going to try and re-install it again tonight, and maybe I need to use the
standalone version instead of the multi-server version. Otherwise, I guess I
will have to go back to using CFMX 7.
Any help would be great,
Server--ColdFusion 8 Multi-server (developers edition)
Computer- Powerbook (powerPC) running tiger 10.4
java version-- 1.42
web server- apache (I picked this as the web server instead of the build in
option)
Thanks so much,
John Barrett
