cfdocument images size issues
We currently use cfdocument PDF types to create reports. These reports are
growing to sizes in excess of 15MB when generated. The problem appears to be
the image files imbeded in the document. We can not figure out how to reduce
the output size without reducing the images to almost nothing.
It would appear that cfdocument is re-sampling the images as it inserts them.
They start as a 50K image and cfdocument increases the size of the document to
over 200k per image (varies).
Is there a way to reduce the output file size. Better coding, settings, etc.
We have tried both <img> and <cfimage writeToBrowser> tags and the only thing
that appears to work is to use the <cfset ImageScaleToFit> tag, but our images
have to be extremely small to get the document to somewhere around 5MB. (there
are about 30 pictures in the document). The images become so small that they
are not usable as a presentation document.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
