I haven't yet used the tag. It looks quite interesting. 

 I had a look at the http://www.blayter.com/john/cf_googlemap/ out of 
curiosity. Apparently, putting <cf_googlemapshow/> at the end, just before the 
closing body tag, solves a number of Javascript issues.
