We have came across a similar issue with CF . We have some pdf's that
render images within them. The minute we put the production servers
under our CISCO load balancer, the pdf's started to take 3-5 minutes
to render. As soon as I pulled the server from the load balancer, the
pdf's worked fine again. I've narrowed down the issue. If the server
is under the load balancer and the pdf has an image tag in it, the
delay occurs. As soon as I remove the image tag it comes right up. If
I put it back in, it then takes forever to render. Now, if I pull the
server back out of the load balancer, then the pdf comes right up
regardless of the image tag being in there or not. This behavior is
consistent on two different sets of two physical servers, with two
separate load balancers. Do you have any idea of what I can look for?
This is a pretty serious issue for us here at Verizon because we use
CF to render our contracts/quotes to customers for network
provisioning in PDF form.

Thanks,

Gary
