/sys does not have memory stats, IRQ stats, CPU-time stats. It mostly 
has hardware stats, module-stats, and the other occasional random kernel 
facts.

That is the idea, at least from me.
My expectation is that the old procinfo-18 package will be obsoleted by 
this package.
