Hello,
in one of the last releases xchat started doing multiple connection
attempts on IPv6 addresses and waiting 10 seconds inbetween. Honnestly,
this sucks. My server has a resolvable ipv6 DNS entry but ipv6 is not
available for my host. A sane application shall interpret ENETUNREACH as
a signal to skip this networking protocol (ipv6) and try another one
(ipv4) and THEN wait 10 seconds and then begin with ipv6 again, etc.pp.,
and not try fife times with artificial delays on the same, broken,
connection method.
Currently, I have to wait 50 (_FIFTY_) seconds to connect a machine
which has perfect ipv4 connection, unless I enter its ipv4 IP directly.
Tell me if you like that change and if you need help writting a patch to
implement this.
