I retrieved the Xorg.log file for my compiz-enabled terminal. It adds
the following lines, at the moment I try to go back and it makes the
black screen:
(WW) Open ACPI failed (/var/run/acpid.socket) (No such file or directory) (II) No APM support in BIOS or kernel (II) NVIDIA(0): Setting mode "1280x1024_74.00" (II) Implicit Core Pointer: ps2EnableDataReporting: succeeded Does it help?
