Summary: kwifimanager switch network script does not provide
enough information to switch networks
Product: kwifimanager
Version: 3.5.0
Platform: Gentoo Packages
OS/Version: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
Severity: normal
Priority: NOR
Component: general
AssignedTo: swinter kde org
ReportedBy: mswilliamson uwaterloo ca
Version: 3.5.0 (using KDE KDE 3.5.0)
Installed from: Gentoo Packages
Compiler: GCC 3.4.4-r1
OS: Linux
The script kwifimanager generates to switch networks only contains the ESSID of
the network we wish to switch to. However, when kwifimanager is used in an
environment where there are multiple access-points with the same ESSID (e.g. a
corporate network), the effect of the command is none. In this case, I wish to
switch to an access point that displays a strong signal number. kwifimanager
should generate a script which specifies at least the channel of the access
point, and preferably the MAC address of the access point.
