WORKSHOP AT THE NFB DALLAS CONVENTION
Dear Fellow Federationists:
Below is information regarding an Open House and
Workshop that will be held Thursday, July 3, 2008
from 2:00-4:00 p.m. If you have scouting
experience and would like to help lead one of the
discussions or help teach some of the scouting
skills at the Workshop please contact Bruce Gardner at Bruce.Gardner@xxxxxxxx
WERE YOU A BOY SCOUT? ARE YOU CURRENTLY A
SCOUTER? WOULD YOU LIKE TO BE INVOLVED IN
SCOUTING? WOULD YOU LIKE YOUR BLIND CHILD TO BE INVOLVED IN SCOUTING?
If so, please note -
At our NFB National Convention in Dallas the
Parents of Blind Children division (along with
representatives of the National Office of the Boy
Scouts of America) will be hosting an Open House
and Workshop entitled "Blind Youth and Adults Actively Involved in Scouting."
Drop by and participate in discussions on how
blind youth and adults actively participate in
all scouting activities and how BSA materials can
be made more accessible to the blind.
Also join in as blind Scout Masters and Scouters
teach hands-on participants scouting skills such as:
§ Knot tying;
§ Knife and ax sharpening;
§ Orienteering (using a compass); and
§ How to start a camp fire without matches.
Come join the fun! The Open House and Workshop
will be held Thursday, July 3, 2008 from 2:00-4:00 p.m.
